How to build a Watercress Floating Tray.
Step-by-Step Guide on how to build a simple watercress floating tray for a Deep Raft Aquaponics System.

Tools:
- Polystyrene Foam Cutter.
- Scissors.
Relevant Parts:
- Vegetable Tray.
- Four 300mm x 4.8mm cable ties.
- Polystyrene Foam.

Step 1
- Ask your local grocer or shop for a plastic vegetable tray.
- Remove any labels or stickers.
- Clean the tray.



Step 2
- Cut two pieces of polystyrene foam that are the approximate length of the tray.



Step 3
- Tie the piece of polystyrene foam as shown.
- Cut the loose ends of the cable ties.



Step 4
- Cut grown watercress from a safe local source, or alternatively use fresh watercress from the supermarket.
- Please Note: Wild watercress may be contaminated with Fasciola hepatica, a common liver fluke.
- Distribute the watercress evenly in the tray.



Step 5
- Take the tray to the Deep Raft Aquaponics, or to your fish tank.
- Note the ideal water level in picture two.
- Make sure all watercress is in contact with the water.


Step 6
- Pictures taken after two weeks.
- Growth will vary from system to system.
- Cut-and-come-again crop.
